CURRENT DESIGNS VITREOUS ENAMEL artwork 10.

This artwork relates directly to the postcard workshop that was held with Highview Residential Home. As in the workshop, imaginary scenes were designed using a selection of montage images from old postcards, purchased at Bolton Market. This panel was produced by Janet and explored the overall theme of old postcards from around the country and more local postcards from Salford. During the workshop Janet discussed her experiences of going to Manchester Docks. They were fond memories of visiting a vibrant an exciting place in Salford.
artwork 11.

This artwork incorporates text from an interview I held with Arthur McMullen from Boughton Residential Home for ex-service men. It is an extract from an hour long interview with Arthur where he talked about his early experiences in Salford including working as a local coal deliverer and his trips to his local pubs, the then 'Three Terriers' on Wick |Lane. The artwork relates to themes already mentioned and also related to the busy lifestyle that Arthur led. The text is presented like a message sent on a p-postcard.
