I would be extremely pleased if your school would join me in a creative session exploring the theme of signs.Please find enclosed some visuals of the types of fun and engaging signs that I would potentially explore with your pupils.
The session would be very similar to an art class. I would bring reference material to inspire your pupils regarding how varied, humorous and even bizarre some street signs from around the world can be. I would provide mounted shapes of different blank signs together with different cut out sign designs to arrange within the template. Pupils could then be encouraged to colour decorate and personalise the signs.
The finished signs produced by the children would then go on to be used to temporarily decorate the actual walking route. The opening of the route at present is scheduled for March '07. The children's signs would be attached to lampposts and walls as normal signs are, as are the artistic signs that I will be fabricating for the route.
